Happy New Year!

Friday, January 1, 2010
This post has taken me forever to put together--I went through EVERY picture we took this year and tried to choose the the shots that best summarized each month. Quite a daunting task. So, here we go:

2009, in pictures (and brief commentary...)

January........................
Lincoln was one month old and loving the floor gym. Many, many hours were spent on that floor gym.
My brother Jeff and his wife Lindsay came to visit and meet Lincoln since they were unable to come for the birth in December.

February..........................

Audrey and Alicia paid us a lovely visit in February. So fun!
We love waking up in the morning to a sweet baby!

March..........................

Lincoln joined us for a hike in the Beco.

April.......................
Lincoln celebrated his first Easter Sunday.
We took our first trip up to Omaha to see the family.
Lincoln saw his first snow! As you can see, he loved it...

May...........................
In May, I celebrated my first Mother's Day! We went to the beach for the day.
We went to Dallas for Lucas' Dad's birthday and captured 4 generations in one picture.
Lincoln was beginning to push up and hold himself on hands and knees...no crawling, but we were watching! Many a food crumb (or in this case, noodle) landed on Lincoln's head as he rode around in the mei tai and I attempted to eat : ) We saw Aunt Breanne while up in Dallas for the birthday surprise. Lincoln wasn't such a fan initially of the ocean....or the sand.
June..........................

First Father's Day!
First food! As you can see, he loved the avocado....
Getting ready to be on the move...

July......................

My brother and Lindsay tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony up in Omaha.
I made the best strawberry rhubarb pie EVER. We took Lincoln to see his first fireworks. He took his 2nd round trip flight and did a-mazing. First time in the pool! So much fun. He loved the water!

August...............................

In August, we traveled up to St. Louis and Illinois for our friends' Dylan and Mikki's wedding. We met up with some of my good friends and college roommates on the way and had a mini baby reunion--so fun! I apparently don't have/can't find pictures of the wedding, but it was a blast also.
August also brought my onset of vertigo (vestibular neuritis). What an adventure--so glad that is over!

I opened my store in August! So much planning and working and it finally resulted in opening day, August 11th, 2009!

September.......................

I turned twenty(....nine). And I started amassing a collection of wonderful sewing and crafty books, which I can't wait to make every project out of as soon as I find the time : )

October...........................

I attend the BIRTH fair as a vendor this year for my company. We attended the Texas State Fair in Dallas and sat in a giant tractor wheel. We saw horses and sat on a saddle. We went to the pumpkin patch and Lincoln picked out his first pumpkin!
We went to the zoo dressed in our giraffe Halloween costume and saw the real giraffes.

November.......................

Lincoln experimented with lots of new foods...mmm. We visited the Texas Healing Field for Veteran's Day. We visited Grandma and Grandpa in Omaha for Thanksgiving and raked the leaves.

December.........................

Lincoln sat on Santa's lap for the first time and did remarkably well. We celebrated Lincoln's first birthday! It was so much fun and he had a great time smashing his very own cupcake. We went up to Dallas and celebrated a white Christmas. Lincoln got to touch snow for the first time!
We are looking forward to a fantastic 2010 ! Happy New Year!

  3. What a fun re-cap of 2009....but what happened to April and May? Surely you documented your first Mother's Day and your Earth day challenges in April? But lots of wonderful memories....hard to pick a few from so many! Happy 2010!
