Current Featured Blog

Friday, May 29, 2009
Well, look at me--it is Friday* and I am actually posting a featured blog! We may make this into a Friday Feature yet.  This week is technically a website, although there is a blog along with it...but it is the website that I am currently smitten with.

Let me introduce you to Polyvore.  But, first let me warn you that it is mildly addicting.  You have been warned.  At Polyvore, you have the ability to create different combinations of outfits, furniture, accessories, etc. all from home.  You can search through different stores, drag and drop the items you like to a blank design space, decide if it works together, and you don't have to waste time or money at the store!  The best part is that while you can play with designer stuff, they also have affordable stores listed as well--I found an awesome store called modcloth that is currently my favorite to play with.  Once you create your set, you can hit publish, which allows you to refer back to it and also allows others to find your sets and comment, give feedback/constructive criticism, etc.  There are design contests, groups you can join, and monthly challenges.  So.Much.Fun.  You can also install the "clipper" which allows you to find items that might not be in their own library and "clip" them to add to a set.  You could even take pictures of your own clothing and add them to play around with making different combinations.

I admit that I am not the most fashionable person.  It is rare that I wear anything other than a t-shirt, capris, or jersey skirt.  But, it is still a lot of fun and maybe I will be inspired to have a little more adventure with my wardrobe =]

Here are a few samples of my sets.  Like I said, it is addicting:

So, go create something! And if you do, come share it with me in the comments so I know I'm not the only one obsessed!

*yes, I know it is Saturday. I tried to finish last night before bed, but Lincoln had other ideas =]
